Labradorite with its distinctive iridescence, was first discovered in Labrador in 1770. In an Inuit legend, a great hunter found the Northern Lights enclosed in stone and with a mighty blow of his spear, freed them to dance in the northern sky. Some remained in the earth, giving us beautiful Labradorite.
